AIR FLUID LEVEL WITHIN RIGHT MAXILLARY SINUS

AIR FLUID LEVEL WITHIN RIGHT MAXILLARY SINUS

View image

The arrow head points to a small air fluid level within the right maxillary sinus. Although on this axial CT scan examination no obvious fracture was identified, the presence of an occult fracture cannot be excluded. A coronal CT scan examination may be done to assess the possibility of a fracture if there is a clinical necessity. The possibility of coincidental acute sinusitis which may be have resulted in the air fluid level should be entertained.
