This represents an acute subdural hematoma. Please note that the image quality has changed. The contrast, as well as differentiation between the darker areas is diminished while the differentiation between the brighter areas is accentuated. These are called subdural window settings and help to ascertain subtle extra-axial collections adjacent to the calvarium.
