Chalazion: A 19-year-old woman presented with localized swelling and erythema underneath her left eye for 10-days' duration. She denied any discharge from the eye or change in vision. The 1-cm swelling came to a point at the middle of the lower lid margin; there was accompanying tenderness. Inversion of the lower lid revealed a purulent-appearing mass. This presentation is consistent with a chalazion due to the duration of the lesion. (L.S.)
